Reliable sources suggest that Rashmika Mandanna of Pushpa fame has been signed to play the lead heroine role in Vikram’s Chiyaan 61 directed by Pa Ranjith. An official announcement is awaited from the team. The film produced by Studio Green was formally launched a few days back.
Chiyaan 61 is set against the backdrop of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in Karnataka and it is about working class miners who discover gold in the 19th century. The movie will also showcase how Tamils contributed to the growth of KGF from the British era to modern times.
Shooting of Chiyaan 61 is expected to begin from mid-August, 2022.
